Bringing Christ’s healing love to those who hurt.
Stephen Ministry at Nativity of Our Lord began with a calling — how do we walk alongside those in our community who are navigating life’s most difficult seasons? We recognized that while many people face grief, illness, or transition, they often do it in silence. That realization became our promise: to provide a structured, Christ-centered presence that ensures no one in our community has to walk their path alone.
We believe that healing is found in the quiet, consistent act of accompaniment. Every Stephen Minister we commission is trained in the art of listening, distinctively Christian caring, confidentiality, crisis theory and practice, Christian assertiveness, and a deeper understanding of loss, grief, depression, divorce or separation, aging, and other challenges in life. We use both words and deeds to express Christ’s care for others: listening, comforting, and calling on the training we have received. We humbly walk beside you through your challenges, offering a steady, compassionate, non-judgmental presence.
Behind every request for care is a person hoping to feel seen, heard, and held in the love of God. We carry that hope in to every facet of our ministry. It shapes how we listen, how we pray, and how we serve. That’s why Stephen Ministry at Nativity exists — to bring Christ’s healing love to hurting people, and to make the journey feel a little less burdensome and little more filled with grace.
